This year, the UCL men's 1's have had an up and down season full of goals. They currently sit 4th place in the league, only 1 point behind King's. The two teams however played earlier in the season and UCL came out on top with a comfortable 13-8 win. The team this year is compiled of a balanced range of UCL veterans and rookies ranging from 2nd years to PHD students. With 3 varsity wins against King's in a row UCL will be training even harder in the build-up to the game in the hope of maintaining their dominance. This year's team is as determined as ever and eager to keep the varsity title in UCL's hands.
This year, UCL Women’s 1s have had an extremely successful season with some excellent victories in the league. Having had a record intake of fantastic fresh this year, they have one of their strongest teams in a long time. The team has been training hard over the past months in preparation for this year’s varsity. The reigning varsity victors for the past two years, UCL are ready to maintain the winning streak with yet another smashing victory this year. #bleedpurple
Fresh off promotion to Southeast 1A following the 2017-18 season, King’s Men’s 1s have gone from strength to strength. Thanks to extra training as a King’s Performance Team (and some trusty American semester abroad students), they have backed up promotion with a strong run of games and are on track for a top-3 finish. With the best team in recent memory, captain Jake Buffery and the team are looking forward to reclaiming the Varsity title in what is shaping up to be a competitive match.
Goals, goals and more goals seems to be a running theme amongst the King’s Women’s 1s. A King's Performance team, this formidable squad led by Anna Timms has seen a brilliant season. Placing 3rd in Southeast 1A at the end of 2017-18 they are currently looking for a higher finishing position to see off the 2018-19 season. The team is getting Varsity-ready with a new coach that prescribes an inordinate amount of fitness, pushing our ladies team through the winter months (training in the snow really strengthens character). Hopes are high for Varsity and UCL are prepared for a treat
